Abstract

Initially many oil palm plantations were developed on dry marginal land so that management problems were not too complex. Tidal lands have the potential for oil palm development, however the main problem faced is obstructed and stagnant drainage conditions. This research aims to analyze the comparative performance of Palm Oil Harvesting which implements and does not implement water management on tidal lands. This research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. In this research, two sources were used to obtain data, namely by using secondary data and primary data by carrying out several data collection techniques including, Questionnaires, Interviews, and Observations. The results of this research show that the implementation of water management shows a significant positive impact on Palm oil harvest performance from the aspects of production, quality, efficiency and income. The implementation of water management has a significant and positive impact on various aspects of palm oil harvest management on tidal land. From preparation, organization, implementation, to supervision, the application of water management has been proven to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the harvest management process. It can be concluded that the comparison of harvesting performance before and after the application of water management shows a significant positive impact on the performance and management of palm oil harvesting from the production aspect , quality, efficiency, revenue, organizing, preparation, implementation and supervision.
