Studi Minat Generasi Muda dalam Regenerasi Pengelolaan Perkebunan Keluarga: Analisis Faktor Internal dan Eksternal pada Perkebunan Kakao Rakyat di Desa Ngoro oro Kecamatan Patuk

This study aims to analyze the interest of the younger generation in the regeneration of family plantation management in smallholder cocoa plantations in Ngoro-oro Village, Patuk District, and to identify the internal and external factors influencing such interest. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving young people and parents engaged in the management of family cocoa plantations. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The results indicate that the younger generation's interest in participating in family cocoa plantation management is influenced by a combination of internal and external factors. Internal factors include knowledge and experience in cocoa cultivation, perceptions of plantation business prospects, interest in agricultural activities, business management capabilities, and motivation to continue the family plantation business. Meanwhile, external factors include family support, cocoa prices and income, employment opportunities outside the agricultural sector, technological development, access to information and markets, and the surrounding social environment. The sustainability of cocoa plantation regeneration is not solely determined by the willingness of the younger generation, but also by the ability of families and the business environment to create conditions that support their involvement. Therefore, improving knowledge and skills, strengthening family support, utilizing technology, and increasing the economic value of cocoa farming are necessary to strengthen the younger generation's interest in continuing family plantation management.
