LAPORAN PRAKTEK KERJA MAGANG I PENGENALAN ALAT DAN PROSES PENGOLAHAN INDUSTRI KELAPA SAWIT DI PT PERKEBUNAN NUSANTARA IV REGIONAL III PABRIK KELAPA SAWIT (PKS) SEI GALUH

Oil palm (Elaeise Guenensis Jacq) is an industrial plant whose fruit can be
processed into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel Oil (PKO). Palm oil can
be taken from the flesh and seeds (Nut) of palm fruit. The palm oil factory (PKS)
PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Regional III PKS Sei Galuh is one of the PT
Perkebunan Nusantara IV Companies (Persero) which is located in Pantai
Cermin village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, Riau. This factory, which has
a capacity of 60 tons/hour, processes oil palm fruit from its own plantations,
partner plantations and third parties. Palm oil is produced from fruit extraction
(mesocarp) and kernel oil is produced from fruit seed extraction. At this factory,
the quality standards for CPO are Free Fatty Acid (FFA) maximum 5.00%,
moisture content maximum 0.20%, impurities content maximum 0.02%,
Meanwhile for core standards are maximum moisture 7.00%, broken core
maximum 15.00%. To become CPO and palm kernel oil, Palm Oil Bunches (FFB)
will go through several process stages including several stations, namely fruit
receiving station, sterilizer, thresher, press, clarification, kernel, storage tank.
The utility units in this factory include steam providers (boilers), water treatment
and waste processing.
