ABSTRACK
Research conducted at the Kelantan sakti estate of Kelantan Sakti company aims to determine the effect of Subsider trenches (worm trenches) on peatlands on the productivity of oil palm (ElaeisguineensisJacq). The use of a subsidiary ditch (worm ditch) in the Kelantan Sakti estate is caused by several factors, one of which is peat land. This research was conducted by collecting secondary data at the research location using data on oil palm productivity for the last 3 years which was divided into oil palm productivity using a 1:4 ditch and a 1:8 ditch contained in the block, then a T-test analysis was carried out. to analyze the difference in productivity in the two blocks. Based on observational data, it is known that the use of 1:4 and 1:8 ditches is significantly different for the last 3 years. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that in this study productivity is better on land that uses a 1:4 subsidiary ditch. This can be seen from the productivity data for the last 3 years which was dominated by the 1:4 ditch in the first two years. However, in the third year the productivity in the 1:4 ditch is lower than the 1:8 ditch. Some of the factors that cause 1:4 ditches have lower productivity, one of which is the presence of a pyrite layer that occurs on land that uses 1:4 ditches. The pyrite layer located in the control trench in the block using the 1:4 trench causes oxidation which can release toxins that are harmful to the roots of oil palm plants which have an impact on decreasing productivity of oil palm plantations in the Kelantan plantation of Sakti Kelantan company.
